2007 Emmy Nominations

HBO got 86 nominations and ABC got 70, even if a lot of them are for things like Casting and Art Direction, that’s a lot nominations. HBO’s Bury My Heart At Wounded Knee got the most nods with 17. Being a total Sci-Fi geek I always want to look and see how the oddball shows faired, not too bad, really. Now they just need to win a few times.

EUREKA, First Eligible Year 2007 (This is a fun and silly show where the end of the world is always a possibility.)
2007 – 1 nomination

BATTLESTAR GALACTICA, First Eligible Year 2004 (Absolutely nothing in common with the 1970s show it is named after. Great special effects and acting, but as usual in sci-fi, the writing could use a little help.)
2007 – 4 nominations
2006 – 3 nominations, 0 wins
2005 – 2 nominations, 0 wins
2004 – 3 nominations, 0 wins
Total: 12 nominations, 0 wins

HEROES, First Eligible Year 2007 (The best new show since LOST, a sci-fi show that does not rely purely on special effects to move the plot forward.)
2007 – 8 nominations

SMALLVILLE, First Eligible Year 2002 (Ok, I haven’t really watched this Superman comes of age show in a couple of years, but it still looks about the same to me.)
2007 – 1 nomination
2006 – 1 nomination, 1 win
2005 – 1 nomination, 0 wins
2004 – 0 nominations, 0 wins
2003 – 0 nominations, 0 wins
2002 – 2 nominations, 1 win
Total: 5 nominations, 2 wins

GHOST WHISPERER, First Eligible Year 2006 (The corniest of the I See Dead People shows, but still fun. It has great opening credits, if that counts for anything.)
2007 – 1 nomination
2006 – 1 nomination, 0 wins
Total: 2 nominations, 0 wins

LOST, First Eligible Year 2005 (Why couldn’t Charlie close the door from the inside?)
2007 – 6 nominations
2006 – 9 nominations, 0 wins
2005 – 12 nominations, 6 wins
Total: 27 nominations, 6 wins

MEDIUM, First Eligible Year 2005 (Another great I See Dead People show. There has the added depth of an actual home life and how being a medium can suck.)
2007 – 1 nomination
2006 – 0 nominations, 0 wins
2005 – 1 nomination, 1 win
Total: 2 nominations, 1 win

A couple of shows that I really like are nominated and I hope that they win.

THE TUDORS, First Eligible Year 2007 (Amazingly cool show, beautiful and disturbing.)
2007 – 4 nominations

HELL’S KITCHEN, First Eligible Year 2006 (Hey, if you don’t like watching some annoying Brit yell at people for an hour, why do you watch American Idol?)
2007 – 1 nomination
2006 – 0 nominations, 0 wins
Total: 1 nomination, 0 wins
