Well, more or less. According to my dashboard If You Write It is at a 1000 posts, but it seems that it was still a ways off not too long ago. Still, I have written rather a lot of these silly things. Mainly about movies, books, and television-with a few odds and ends tossed in for good measure.
In that time I have discovered Digg and Stumble Upon and Reddit and Fark. I’ve learned about keywords and RSS feeds and paid content. I’ve become an affiliate for this and that and made next to nothing for my efforts. I’ve found a number of very interesting people who also have blogs. I’ve found a number of shockingly dumb and narrow minded people who also have blogs. Used Entrecard and Blog Rush and Blog Catalog and Blogged. Signed up for countless directories. Done NaNoWriMo and NaBloPoMo-though the act of signing up for these events seems to convince the gods that I need to be madly busy with other things when I do. Used Twitter and Plurk and Facebook. Some are fun, some are baffling, and all of them prove that we have way too much time on our hands.
Life, such as it, goes on.
So what does the future hold for my intrepid readers? Hmm, more of the same sounds kind of boring. Let’s see. I’ve never written about fishing. Only posted once or twice about gardening. I will be tempted to tell the story of how The Wife and I won a trip to London again. There is always food. I don’t talk too much about music. Maybe the curious case of most celebrities having naked photos of themselves floating around these days is worth another post or two. Then there’s the Weather-well, no not the weather.
In the end, it’s just a blog. The kind of writing I have always done. When I was younger I used to write letters filled with poems, pictures, and colored ink. I was blogging back then, I just didn’t know it. So I will keep writing, blogging, and thinking random thoughts.
At least until I win the Lottery and retire to the South of France.
