HBO’s Hung-Yeah That’s What It’s About

HBO HungHBO’s Hung is the story a man and his member, his large member.  Our well hung hero Ray lives in Detroit-where we see things like the destruction of Tiger Stadium and shots of a lot of abandoned and decaying buildings.  Ray’s life itself is not in such great shape either.

His wife left him, his kids leave him after a fire in his uninsured house, his job as a high school coach sucks, and the only thing he has going for him is his big dick.  He’s so desperate that he signs up for a get rich seminar.

At the seminar he meets a woman he has had sex with, a poet who is making a bit of money temping.  She is greatly impressed by how well hung Ray is and Ray is amazed at the number of orgasms she seems to have.  Ray doesn’t like the poet much, but she is in his get rich seminar and they seem destine to be together-one way or another.

Ray has all kinds of bad luck in the first episode of Hung.  But he does have a lightening strike of inspiration when the poet kicks him out of her apartment-well, he was leaving anyway.  The seminar leader said to Find Your Tool, the poet tells him that his big dick is his tool and that he should market it.  Whamo!  A gigolo is born.

But Ray, being a school teacher, doesn’t know much about the male escort business.  So he puts an ad in the personals and hopes for the best.  He gets a call-and gets rejected.  There is a fun bit of business on HBO where you can write an ad for Ray.  Following Ray’s example I said Use The Right Tool in my ad.  My ad is not likely to win the $10,000 prize, but it was fun writing it.

As the show ends, the poet decides that she would like to be Ray’s Pimp.  With Ray’s luck, nothing good will come of this-well, maybe the poet a few more times.

HBO’s Hung is a fun show.  The first episode is more about how much it sucks to be Ray than anything else.  Ray thinks it can’t get any worse, but he’s a high school teacher who wants to be a male prostitute-so yeah, it can get worse.  But at the same time, Ray has no money, so it can get better as well.  Hung was funny, in a hey, my life’s not that bad sort of way.

The opening credits of HBO’s Hung had this nice Fall and Rise of Reginald Perrin feel to it as Ray strips off his clothes and jumps into a lake naked.  So maybe this whole whole gigolo thing will work out after all.

This is a perfect example of why I don’t have television. Perfect. Just saying.

    Have a terrific day. :)

The pilot was amusing. I don’t think he has enough staying power to satisfy a whole season.

Oddly, it’s one of the reason I like TV-even when you think you know what to expect, you can be surprised by a good show.
