Lexus IS C-Live A Little, Be Confused a Lot

I watch a lot of TV and I see a lot of commercials. Some are funny, some are goofy, and some make no sense. Usually the commercials I like are so generic they could be for anything and I remember the ads but have no idea what product they are supposed to be selling. But then, they are just commercials and most people zip past them without a second thought now anyway.
So maybe that is the point of the Lexus IS C ads. First off they are for a car that can’t even be bothered to have a name, it has to settle for a random set of letters. But it’s a Lexus, so what other name does it need?
There are three ads in the series, one in which a man steals a convertible, a second in which he picks up a woman on a bridge, and a third where they flee from a helicopter. These look ads for a sci fi movie, maybe one with zombies or aliens taking over the world or Big Brother finally having his day.
In the first ad, our hero-such as he is, is seen running bare foot and he hops into the car and drives off. We then see that he was not alone, there was a whole mob of people running. Independence Day comes to mind here, the selfish lowlife steals a car to save his own skin and leaves everyone else to their fate. Live a Little- a Lot the announcer says as the car thief speeds away.
In the second ad he is driving across a bridge, we see a woman running-presumably for the same reason everyone else is running-zombies or aliens, or simple bad writing. He looks at her and passes her up. He likes the looks of a second woman and picks her up. She says Hi as she hops in. The Voice Over here says Live a Little-a Lot-the implication seems to be that the second woman is somehow better than the first one.
The third ad has the stolen car pull onto a lookout point kind of place where we see the two people from the previous ad. From under the rim of their romantic view a black helicopter rises and they flee in a cloud of dust. Again-Live a Little-a Lot.
I have seen the last two ads a lot and it never occurred to me that they were related. The first two ads at least had the running in common, so I sort of put them together. Maybe there is yet another ad forthcoming that will make some sense of the first three, but I doubt it.
Maybe I have just watched too many films like 28 Day Later and I Am Legend to get these Lexus ads. Or maybe, like Twitter, there is just nothing there to get.
