Ink Stains has a lot of Halloween Quotes and images of old Halloween Greeting Cards. Always good to see someone who loves a holiday so much. Ink Stains is a very cool blog, though it does bring out the Craft Mall Shopper in me that says, yeah, I could do that. Of course, I never do.
The Wife has always been a huge Halloween fan and we have made a point of going to Haunted Houses whenever we have found ourselves in good Haunted Houses territory. I like all the Haunted Houses in Kansas City, though it has been a couple of years since I was in the famed warehouse district. It has also been a while since I went to Screams in Waxahachie, TX-which bills itself as the world’s largest Halloween theme park.
Then there are the costumes. The Wife always whips up something new each year-a witch, a borg, a vampire, and this year she is going as the maenad from True Blood. I seldom do the whole costume thing myself-though I did win a trip to London for my brilliant Arthur Dent costume-a bathrobe and a towel.
All of that is really beside the point thought isn’t it? It’s all about the candy. Oooh, candy. There are some candies that I only see at Halloween in snack sizes, though I am guessing there are still full sized versions somewhere. I have always been a big fan of those wax lips and teeth-but I seldom see them around any more. A quick Google shows they are still to be found-and the black wax mustache as well, I had forgotten about those.
I was never great at the whole Trick or Treating thing myself, but there were a couple of times that I got a lot of candy and I ate it for several days. Now I just wait for the after Halloween sales and buy all the candy that I will eat for several days.
So watch out for The Great Pumpkin and drink some root beer and be careful what you step on in those alternate dimensions.
