Job Sites-Too Many Job Sites

I used to look for jobs the old fashioned way, I’d read the Want Ads in the local paper and hope for the best. I often found jobs that way, twenty or so years ago. Of course, the best way to get a job is to have someone tell you about a job and apply for it before they run an ad. My list of contacts has never been large, so I still follow the same basic practice-I look at classified ads, only now they have moved online.
I am Portrait Photographer and after lo these many years, I am pretty good, but not great. I work on the lower end of the spectrum, though I have always thought that I would like to work somewhere better than the assembly line shops I have spent the bulk of my career. Maybe I should try to become an apprentice Wedding Photographer, they seem to always be in demand.
So I have a handful of sites that I tend to prowl when looking for a job, while I still stop by Monster and Careerbuilder, I have had less and less luck finding anything useful there-they are both clogged with junk ads for none jobs. Any Photo Company that wants you to supply your own equipment should not be allowed an ad. Ditto for Examiner.com which doesn’t actually offer real jobs so far as I can tell.
Anyway, I have found a couple of newer sites that I like, the ads look much more promising.
Indeed.com and Simply Hired are both clean and easy to use job sites. As with all the many jobsites out there the results are all pretty much the same.
When it comes to Photography jobs I like prowling around Get Photography Jobs-there are a lot of photo jobs out there, but I worry about the places that are always hiring.
Still, it is fun to look, who knows, that dream job may be just a click away.
