Britney Spears Celebrity of The Year

USA Today has determined that Britney Spears is the Celebrity of The Year. The list ranks celebrities by points earned for appearing in gossips mags, websites, and TV Shows.

Britney Spears has 22, 112 points. Most of the list has a score of a 10,000 points or less and many have under a thousand points. Britney Spears has been on TMZ, Entertainment Tonight, and People a lot.

2007 was the year that Britney Spears went from Pop Tart to Trainwreck and Beyond. Shaved Head, no panties, lost custody of her kids, danced like a zombie on the Video Music Awards, pregnant little sister, Mom writing a book on Parenting, and she even released a CD, least we forget that Britney Spears is supposed to be famous as a Singer.

Perez Hilton said You can never have too much Britney Spears and Chris Cocker begged us all to Leave Britney Alone. A Google Search for Britney Spears gets 64,700,000 returns, and that number will only be growing. Britney Spears seems to have truly lost her mind and America seems to want to watch every gory detail.

So it is no surprise that Britney Spears is the Celebrity of The Year. What will happen with the Vapid One? Will she just fade into the shadows like Micheal Jackson and make the occasion public appearance to reconfirm that she is crazy? Or will she be found dead like Marilyn Monroe or Jim Morrison and people will wonder why she was taken so young?

It seems unlikely that Britney Spears will ever have a normal life-can an apartment in Las Vegas with 24/7 security be far behind? If she does put herself into solitary confinement like Howard Hughes and Elvis Presley, I feel sure at least a few paparazzi will move in next door.
