Cloverfield 1-18-08

After all the months, and all the blogs, and all the rumors, there was virtually no chance that this was going to be a great movie. But it was still a pretty good movie. It was a monster movie. Easily the best part of the showing was the preview for Star Trek with the Starship Enterprise Under Construction. The gimmick in Cloverfield-what if we told the story of the people being stepped on by Godzilla instead of the army trying to kill it? The monster was really irrelevant, it was a side note. The Monster is just one more random…

Slusho and Heroes

Slusho makes an apperance in Heroes, as Elle sips on a Slusho while sitting in her car. Greg Beeman’s blog has a number of photos featuring Heroes and a cup of Slusho. These are pretty silly images, but they fit in with most of the other silly images on Greg’s blog. So what does this mean? Are The Heroes going to save the world from that big rubber monster in Cloverfield? Does slusho give you super powers? Only J J Abrams knows for sure. But Heroes and Slusho make a great combo meal. Heroes is a great show, Slusho is…

Cloverfield Trailer Part 2, 1-18-08, and Slusho

It appears that in the new trailer, J.J. Abrams unnamed film, code named Cloverfield, Slusho, Cheese, Monstrous, Terrifying, Cloveleaf, Furious, to be released on 1-18-08 is in fact going to be called– Cloverfield. The first and the most boring of all the names that have been floating around all these months. But that’s alright, at least we have a new trailer to look at. I like the fact that Lady Liberty is missing an arm as well as her head now. I like the bit at the start of the trailer where it says ‘the area formerly known as Central…

Slusho, Jamie and Teddy, and Tagruato

On the JJ Abrams has waaay too much time on his hands front, there is a new website linked to Slusho called Taguato Corp which has a lot of pages but doesn’t seem to say too much. Well, actually it says way too much. My favorite bit of business is the oil drilling map that tells how many billion Estimated Ultimate Recoverable Resources each well has and how big their workforce is. The Bold Futura and ParaFUN Wax subsidiaries are also a bit of fun to look at. What does all this have to do with Slusho? Only Slusho knows. There…

Slusho 1-18-08 and Jamie and Teddy

It’s been a long dry spell on the 1-18-08, slusho, monstrous, overnight, terrifying, cloveleaf, project clover field, cheese front, but there seems to be some news now from the MySpace side. There is a website called Jamie and Teddy that seems to be related to the unnamed Monstrous Movie by J J Abrams. There is a photo of a couple of teddy bears and clicking on the photo takes you to a login page.jllovesth gets you into the site where you can view a video of Jamie, one of our heroes, talking to Robbie. There is a funny bit where she warns…

1-18-08 J J Abrams Slusho Recent Events

The Staypuff Marshmallow Man is one of the many monsters rumored, tongue in cheek, to be the monster in J.J. Abrams Mysterious Terrifying Monster Movie. The latest news is that the untitled J.J. Abrams Monstrous Movie not named Cloverfield to be released on 1-18-08 is that it will be about a small group of people fleeing for their lives from small monsters and not just one giant whale of a monster. This story is told on Dread Central and seems as likely to be true as any of the other rumors floating around. As one of the many people who…

1-18-08, Slusho, Monstrous and now Cheese

The Vulture has what appears to be the call sheet for the last day of principal shooting for J J Abram’s still untitled monster movie, which is not titled: Slusho, Monstrous, Cloverleaf, Cloverfield, Parasite, or Cheese. The jury is still out on The Beast and Overnight and one persistent commenter that believes it will be UltraMan.This call sheet seems to give away the ending, but it may not. It is a very rare film that is shot in order. The last day of shooting just means the last day of shooting. I have not been impressed with the two or…

Slusho 1-18-08 MySpace and 4 Posters

The other two posters are the same, except one says Monstrous and the other has no title at all. So we are back to square one without a title for J J Abram’s film to be released on 1-18-08. Someone left a comment on my last Slusho post that the film will be called The Beast or The Beast From 20,000 Fathoms, making it a remake of the famous Ray Bradbury and Ray Harryhausen rubber monster movie. Hmm, another remake.According to 1-18-08 blog these are people that seem to have something to do with the film on Myspace. I’m not…

Slusho, Cloverleaf and Why do we care?

Slusho is an odd little page that reminds me of the scene in Firefly where the crazy girl goes crazy after seeing an odd ad on TV. The Slusho ad says you can’t drink just six and has one filled cup and eight empty cups on one side and three filled cups and five empty ones on the other. It has a vaguely anime feel to it and an upbeat little tune that likely has a certain number of notes that mean something. Having been a fan of Paul is Dead with the beatles, it’s easy to see all kinds…
