Torchwood The Children of Earth

Torchwood: Children of Earth re-joins Captain Jack (John Barrowman), Gwen Cooper (Eve Myles) and Ianto Jones (Gareth David-Lloyd) who are still coming to terms with the death of two of their closest friends. Despite their pain, they have a job to do.-BBCFor those not in the know, Torchwood is a BBC spin off series from Doctor Who, and like Dr Who, they have decided not to do a full season, but a kind of mini-series. Odd, since many BBC series are only 6 episodes long anyway, why make a big deal out of having only 5 episodes of Torchwood? Dr…

Torchwood End of Season Two

The second season of Torchwood got away from that whole obsessed with shagging everything in sight feel that the first season of Torchwood had. But they replaced it with a heavy dose of downers, death, and despair. A few spoilers to follow. Our pansexual hero Captain Jack still spends a lot of quality time with Ianto and it was hinted at in an episode which guest starred Martha Jones that he had sexual relations with most of his motley crew. He spent a lot of his time on Dr Who lusting after the Doctor, and everyone else he saw. But…

Torchwood Season Two

James Marsters-Buffy The Vampire Slayer’s Spike-has a role in Season Two of Torchwood. For those not in the know, Torchwood is a spin-off of Dr Who and features the sexual adventures of Captain Jack Harkness. There was a lot of sex talk last season, the most baffling being about the Many Uses of a Stopwatch. So it is no real surprise that Captain Jack greets his old Time Corp buddy with a full on kiss. Journeyman vs Goodnight Sweetheart

Journeyman is a pretty good show, as far as it goes, but not really a great show. Goodnight Sweetheart, a British time travel comedy, is a great show, at least for the first season. He and his mate instantly realize what this means-they can get stinking, bloody rich! Our hero in Journeyman, well, he’s a total patsy so far. He doesn’t want to get rich, he wants to be a hero. Even when another time traveler tells him he has to have current era money and…

Annie Leibovitz and The Queen of England

BBC One is a television station in Great Brittan. The Brits love tabloids, I mean, they really love them. Even the normal newspapers have regular gossip sections and nudie photos. So anything that is scandalous is what sells. Throw in the Royal Family, and whamo!, big bucks. So BBC One was running a teaser that showed an unhappy Queen Elisabeth storming out of a photo shoot with Annie Leibovitz. It seems Annie asked the Queen to remove her crown for a photo or two and the Queen was not amused. That was the tease.“The BBC would like to apologise to…

New Dr Who Season Three

BBC’s Dr Who and Torchwood have been fun shows to watch. This last season of Dr Who was the best of the new series so far. Three episodes in particular were exceptional, Human Nature, The Family of Blood, and Blink. These shows were written by Paul Cornell, and they were just great. With all due respect to Russell T. Davis for his usual in-your-face Doctor, Paul’s Doctor is a little more down to Earth and little less of a smart ass. The stories were really good, really self-contained, and really emotional. It has been the small details that have made…
