JJ Abrams Star Trek Trailer 2

I’m glad to see the Old Uniforms, but a bit surprised to see the New Ships in JJ Abrams Star Trek. I guess he wants just a touch of that Original Star Trek feel and not all of those clunky 1960s props and special effects. There do seem to be a few old sound effects as well. While it might seem silly to have old style toggle switches everywhere and big bright colored buttons-Battlestar Galactica seems get away with it. The lure of technology is way too strong for there to ever be a real Star Trek Movie again. Just…

J.J. Abram’s Star Trek Poster

Four new character posters from JJ Abramsā€˜ Star Trek were revealed at VegasCon 08. Clockwise we have John Cho as Sulu, Simon Pegg as Scotty, Anton Yelchin as Chekov and Karl Urban as McCoy. It’s nice to see a bit of color here, as one of my main complaints about Star Trek Enterprise was that everything was gray-it should have had a tagline-Not in Color. Judging from the bits of uniform I can see here these are going to be more of the same kind of outfits they used in Star Trek Enterprise. I know that the blinding colors of…

Fringe-JJ Abrams Does The X-Files

In the good old days, if you made a TV Show like Fox’s Fringe and wanted to get some buzz about it, you would arrange for people from TV Guide to see the show. Maybe JJ Abrams and Fox would invite someone from Parade Magazine and a few of the larger daily newspapers. The Media would watch a show like Fringe and write up a review to be printed the day that Fringe was going to air for the first time. Then came the Review Copy-Video Tapes and then DVDs of Fringe sent out to respected media. There were rules…

Cloverfield Trailer Part 2, 1-18-08, and Slusho

It appears that in the new trailer, J.J. Abrams unnamed film, code named Cloverfield, Slusho, Cheese, Monstrous, Terrifying, Cloveleaf, Furious, to be released on 1-18-08 is in fact going to be called– Cloverfield. The first and the most boring of all the names that have been floating around all these months. But that’s alright, at least we have a new trailer to look at. I like the fact that Lady Liberty is missing an arm as well as her head now. I like the bit at the start of the trailer where it says ‘the area formerly known as Central…

Slusho, Jamie and Teddy, and Tagruato

On the JJ Abrams has waaay too much time on his hands front, there is a new website linked to Slusho called Taguato Corp which has a lot of pages but doesn’t seem to say too much. Well, actually it says way too much. My favorite bit of business is the oil drilling map that tells how many billion Estimated Ultimate Recoverable Resources each well has and how big their workforce is. The Bold Futura and ParaFUN Wax subsidiaries are also a bit of fun to look at. What does all this have to do with Slusho? Only Slusho knows. There…

Slusho, make that Monstrous 1-18-08

At the end of J J Abrams trailer we see the head of the Statue of Liberty come crashing down, so it is no surprise to see a headless Lady Liberty here. There is also that nice v shape in the water, indicating that something large is heading into the city. I really like the look of this one sheet. Of course, there is no guarantee that this is the one sheet or that it will be called Monstrous. The latest rumor has Paramount whipping up a site at http://www.themonstrousmovie.com/ Nothing there. . .yet.On the 1-18-08 front, there are now…
