CNN Breaking News: Facebook Users Are Stupid

CNN did a story called Young women drink, party, post. It’s the latest of the People Using Social Networks All Freakin Idiots stories. We find a group on Facebook called 30 Reasons Girls Should Call It A Night, which are apparently the thirty reasons a drunk girl should call it a night.
This is Facebook Gone Wild, drunk girls posting photos of themselves and, since Facebook is famous for everyone having to use their real names, there are real names by most of the images. Many of the images are of drunk and laughing young people, a few throwing up, a few kissing, a lot with drinks in hand, and a couple that look a bit battered and bruised. But hey, it’s college right?
One of the Discussion Boards on the Facebook group
30 Reasons Girls Should Call It A Night is weirdest thought you ever had while vomiting. There are 175 posts on this discussion board. Lots of talk about how they tend to think they imagined it all.
There are about 40 posts on the Wall of
30 Reasons Girls Should Call It A Night talking about being flamed by CNN. As with everyone else, I had never heard of this group before CNN made it famous. Many of the comments on the Wall say they saw it on CNN and then joined the group. So good job on spreading the word CNN. Of course, since the group has like a 172, 000 members, I don’t guess it was that big a secret to start with.
CNN’s take on all this is that the young women are breaking the law and possibly ruining their lives.
Underage Drinking is Bad Stop the Presses.
Since anyone can look at the photos
on 30 Reasons Girls Should Call It A Night, a potential employer might think twice about hiring a binge drinker. A parent might think about having a serious talk with their daughter. A predator might rub his hands together and say-wow, a buffet! The people in the group all seem to think this is just fun and games, and maybe to them it is. Maybe they’ll grow up before it is too late. Or maybe they’ll just find another 30 Reasons Girls Should Call It A Night.
Of course, the really shocking find is that so many members of Facebook watch CNN. Maybe CNN needs to add more beer commercials and take off some of those ads for life insurance. You need to play to your base.
