Cowboys Beat Eagles 41-37

Monday Night Footfall has not been the same since it left ABC. The Happy-Go-Lucky lot at ESPN is always a little too giddy for my taste. The Dallas Cowboys beating the Philadelphia Eagles was a great game, I didn’t need to bozos in the booth telling me every five seconds-Wow, this is a great game.

Terrell Owens caught two touchdown passes and moved past Chris Carter on the NFL all-time list for touchdown receptions. T.O. now has 132 TDs and is a mere 65 touchdowns away all time touchdown leader Jerry Rice.

Tony Romo had another 300 plus yard game with 312 yards. Though to be fair a number of those yards were short tosses to Marian Barber who then ran up the yards. Tony also turned the football over in the end zone and the Eagles scored a touch down on the recovery.

This was an NFL Game out of the good old days-lots of action and lots of scoring. The game was pretty much decided on what was clearly a screw up by Donovan McNabb. McNabb did one of those fake handoffs to his running back Brian Westbrook, who folded his arms across his stomach as they do when getting a fake handoff and rumbling off to be a distraction. Then McNabb pushed to ball toward him and dropped it. The Cowboys recovered the ball the rest was history.

This was one of those Is The NFl Fixed? moments. Donavan McNabb didn’t play like an idiot the rest of the night. It seems that every NFL game has one or two plays that make no sense and end up deciding the outcome of the game.

It was fun to watch and with the Eagles being such a good team and still losing, we can now start thinking about that Perfect Season and the clear ride to The Superbowl.
