Glass Vessel Sinks

This glass sink is made by Kraus, who is on the verge of becoming a leading designer and manufacturer of a unique selection of bathroom fixtures and accessories.

When I first moved into my new house I had all kinds of ideas about how to fix it up. We spent a lot of time hanging out at Home Depot and Lowe’s and even took home sample books filled with floor covering samples and wall paper swatches-but the actual cost of a major renovation has always kept me from pursuing more than the most basic of projects.

Plumbing fixtures can be surprisingly fun to look at. The Wife and I have always had this plan of getting the large Jacuzzi tub or the Kohler Super Shower. There is something about hot water swirling around the body that is so nice. Again, one of those items that will have to wait until we win the Lotto.

One of the items that I found was glass sinks. I think these are way cool looking. Ok, I haven’t bought one of these sinks, but I do like the way they look. I wonder how hard it would be to keep clean or if you might need a special cleaner. The glass sinks I saw in the hardware store looked pretty tough.

The Wife is a bit more practical, she thinks that a bathroom sink should have a bathroom vanity under it where you can store your cleaning products. Most sinks don’t make too much of an impression on me, they are white porcelain and and once in a while have the shape of seashell molded into them. Glass bathroom sinks have a bit more pizazz. A Kraus glass bathroom sink looks more like a work of art and less like someplace to wash your hands.

Glass vessel sinks have always been fascinating to me. The idea of something fragile like glass being used in this way is kind of fun. Of course, these glass vessels sinks are not made of fragile glass, but are make of 0.5 inch thick tempered glass . Sounds pretty good to me. I like the bright colors of Kraus glass vessel sinks as well.

Well, I can always dream.
