Morning Banana Diet-One More Stupid Diet

Eat 1-2 bananas before each meal… minimum of 3 times a day.-Morning Banana Diet

One food diets make the occasional appearance because they are easy to understand. The Morning Banana Diet is a lot like the Grapefruit diet-you aren’t eating nothing but bananas, just adding them to your diet.

A similar diet involves drinking a glass of water before and after a meal-the ideal being to fill your stomach with something beside the normal junk food we all live on these days.

The news on the Morning Banana Diet is that it is a craze in Japan at the moment and they are running short of bananas because of it. Maybe someone should mention the Morning Grapefruit Diet-at least until the next crop of bananas is ready.

My favorite diet advice was from the book In Defense of Food-Eat Food, Not Too Much, Mostly Plants. But that is hard advice to follow. You have to know what your eating and where it came from and if it’s real food and not fake food. Eating a banana and drinking water is a lot easier.

My experience of Diet Books is that fall into two broad groups-Keep It Simple Stupid and Baffle Them With Bullshit. The Morning Banana Diet is the keep it simple type. The Atkins Diet is the baffle them type. I have always been blessed with a high metabolism and can pretty much eat whatever I want. I’m not as thin I was in High School, but then, I have always liked eating bananas as well.

My all time favorite diet advice came from Tour de France winning cyclist Greg LeMond-I believe you can ride a bike across the country, eat nothing but Twinkies and drink nothing but Cokes and end up in better shape than when you started. Or something like that-I don’t remember the exact quote. But just as Michael Phelps eats a ten thousand calorie breakfast and still looks amazing, it’s all about burning the calories you eat. You can eat a million calories a day-as long as you burn a million and one calories a day.

It’s a lot easy to do the Morning Banana Diet than ride a bike in the Tour de France or win Gold Medals in swimming. Eat bananas and lose weight. Hey, it could happen.
