SEO and Google

The Google Top Ten is the normal first page of results from a search and the most likely to be clicked. SEO-Search Engine Optimization, is the art of getting into the Google Top Ten as often as possible. First off, get a Tracker, since it does no good to get into the Google Top Ten if you don’t know your getting into the Google Top Ten.
I use ExtremeTracking, which tells me not only when I am in the Google Top Ten, but what keywords were used to get me in The Google Top Ten. As any Search Engine Optimization expert will tell you, cracking the Google Top Ten needs to be followed by the words with the phrase. . .If you just have some random combination of keywords getting you into the Google Top Ten, that isn’t Search Eengine Optimization, that’s just plain dumb luck. Not that a lot of Search Engine Optimization isn’t just plain dumb luck.
Google Search has a niffty little tool called Google Suggest. This a great Search Engine Optimization tool, as you can use the Google Suggests to pepper your posts with highly searched for keywords. This will help with your quest for one of those Google Top Ten spots. These are Google Search results- but since it is a Google Search top ten spot you want, this is good Search Engine Optimization. Start typing a phrase and Google Suggest drops down a list of possible keywords and the number of pages using that keyword. Search has three billion pages, so the odds are good that a lot of people type in search as a keyword.
If you find there are a lot of people using some oddball phrase that gets you a Google Top Ten listing on a regular basis, by all means start writing posts that feature that oddball set of keywords. Just don’t count on luck to get your Google Top Ten spot all the time. There are topics that you not be able to get a Google Top Ten spot on, as there are too many other people doing the same Search Engine Opitmization work that you are.
One way to get into the Google Top Ten is use the keywords that want searchers to find you with. Most blog Trackers list keywords, site info, most popular time of day and all kinds of other way cool SEO tips. It can be sobering after you first get a Tracker is see that all your Search Engine Optimization work has gotten you nothing more than a Google Top Ten spot for Naked Photo, or Free Calendar. But at least you know you have a Google Top Ten on some keywords.
One of the things that I have found using a Stats Tracker is that most of the time when I do get a click, it is on a post with a Google Top Ten spot.
The easy way to get a Google Top Ten spot is to use high keyword density. This works especially well if the thing everyone is Googling is an image, as images don’t scan on Google’s radar. But a post about that image can land you a Google Top Ten spot for months. You then have to decide whether having that Google Top Ten spot is a good thing or a bad thing.
Having a Google Top Ten spot means more people will come to your site. That Google Top Ten spot means more people will see your ads, read your posts, wonder what else you have to say, and if they like it maybe they will link to it, or comment on it. Or maybe they will look around and promptly leave again.
But they will still be counted on your tracker, and it’s one of those nice warm feeling to look and find one of your posts in Google Top Ten.
Again.
