Terminator:Sarah Connor Chronicles-Episode 1

Terminator: The .45 Long Slide, with laser sighting.
Pawn Show Owner:These are brand new; we just got them in. That’s a good gun. Just touch the trigger, the beam comes on and you put the red dot where you want the bullet to go. You can’t miss. Anything else?
Terminator: Phased-plasma rifle in the forty watt range.
Pawn Shop Owner: Hey, just what you see, pal.

The first episode of Terminator:The Sarah Connor Chronicles was just great. The story picks up right after the end of T2, which is as good a place as any. There is a lot of action, lots of gunfire and things blowing up. There is a feeling of drama, just like in the first two movies. And even though they almost go over the top with scenes that are small screen clones from the films, it still works. I liked this show-I liked it a lot.

The actors are all good and the feel of the show is more like a movie. The bad guy Terminator could have used some kind of an accent, but I guess that might have been a bit much. Though it was never explained in the films why a cyborg had an accent. I have mixed feelings about the addition of future tech into the story, even though it covered by the fact that it was all built from current time components.

The possibility of Phasd Plasma Rifles and time machines doesn’t really alter the story that much, unless they have access to these things at every turn. Them it would not be just the CPU in the Terminator’s head that would a risk to the Timeline. But then, we aren’t really worried about all that anymore. Judgment Day is inevitable, right?

This looks like it is going to be good. I just hope they have enough in the can to get through most of a season.
