The Beatles Rubber Soul

The original U.S. release of Rubber Soul was a bit different from the original U.K. release. Nowhere Man and Drive My Car were left off and I’ve Just Seen a Face and If I Need Someone were put on. The CD released a couple of years ago was the U.K. version. All well and good, Beatles fans like slightly different releases, but the problem is that there was no CD release of the original U.S. version.
I am a fan of the Anthology CDs, I love the Beatles LOVE, and I even kind of like Let it Be Naked, but just as the Star Wars films Lucas went back and screwed around with are NOT the movies that make millions of dollars and changed the history of film, these re-issues of Beatles songs are NOT the songs that make the Beatles household words in America.
I still like the original songs in their original order, or at least, the order that I got used to listening to on that orange label Capitol LP I bought at Sears.
But I must admit that I kind of like having Nowhere Man on the CD, though I miss I’ve Just Seen a Face, as it is one of my all time favorite Beatles song. The rest of the line up is pretty much there.
