The rain, rain, rain, came down, down, down

Lots of water and wind and grey skies. The kind of weather that kind of depresses me once in a while. The house tends to flood in heavy rains. There is that whole damp and dreary business. I am not all that happy as a general rule anyway. Work has sucked for the past couple of weeks and then I have to work with a couple of the loonies that I don’t like. One I have had to put up with all week and she has been OK for the most part. The other is a kind of trainer or supervisor or what the hell ever he is and he just dropped by today and will likely be back again tomorrow. He likes to talk politics all the damned time, and I really don’t much care about it.
The rain is mixed in with a bit of thunderstorms and tornadoes, stuff that is as common as a spring shower here in Texas. In fact, every time it rains, and I mean, like every time it rains, there is a severe thunder storm warning and/or tornado warning. The result is that I tend to not pay a hell of a lot attention to these things. I had a sister-in-law once upon a time that was visiting from California and there came a thunderstorm. We thought she was going to jump out of her skin every time thunder rumbled. Now I must admit that standing out in the open during a storm can be a bit bracing, as the noise really in pretty damned impressive. But most of the time I hear thunder from the comfort for a nice insulated building. This is also close to the time of year that we get nice big hail storms. But not quite yet, wait till May for the killer hailstones.
So I am sitting in my motel room thinking dark thoughts about quiting my job and moving someplace with an ocean view and getting another job that I will quite in a year or two. My photography is better that it has been in years. But I am working accounts that it really doesn’t matter. The trouble with so many photo businesses is that the whole job involves taking photos of people who really don’t want their damned pictures taken. Sad to say I really don’t see anyway around that. It’s just a numbers game, you get enough bodies in and you’ll make enough sales to be worth while.
One of my favorite oddball little BBC type shows was Ballykissangel. In the first episode our hero is riding into town on a bus and it is raining. A girl he will later fall in love with stares out the window and says something along the lines of-“A thousand shades of green, more like a thousand shades of gray.”

“I love walking in the rain, ’cause then no-one knows I’m crying.” Not sure who said this, but I can relate.
